The 1st Southern Hemisphere Rock Mechanics Symposium - SHIRMS 2008, will take place in Perth, Western Australia, 16-19 September 2008. The conference was approved as an Australasian ISRM-Sponsored Regional Symposium.

The date for submission of Abstracts was extended to 3 April 2008.
